WWF lucrează în România pentru conservarea unor specii protejate emblematice, dintre care unele pe cale de dispariție. Ursul brun, rața roșie, cormoranul mic și sturionii sunt doar câteva dintre speciile a căror supraviețuire depinde de echilibrul ecosistemelor din țara noastră. Prin activitățile sale de lobby, WWF propune soluții de protejare a acestor specii, mergând însă și la nivelul următor, de conservare a speciilor într-un mod participativ, prin proiecte complexe.
